Today's yogic experience is commonly reduced to a physical practice on a yoga mat rendering the postural (āsana) performance the new canon for modern yogīs and yoginīs.
Despite the undeniable physical benefits of its practice, are we able to see what lies behind all those postures and styles? What is the difference between modern and traditional Yoga? Do we know Yoga's history and philosophy? Is Yoga related to modern spirituality or religion?
At least one thing we know for sure: yoga is everywhere. So my invitation here is to reflect, critique, analyse and compare this popular phenomenon called "Yoga" and to begin with I want to share with you a video about the "International Yoga Day".
Thanks to Yogic Studies for the information in this video.
